Cuba is pretty beautiful with its unusual landscape – palm trees in misty swamps, yellow stone escarpments. Havana is the capital city – “Our Man in Havana” and all that. If you like old American cars this is the place to go on holiday to see pink Cadillacs and many very colorful cars. Take a look at a car park there and compare it with one in U.K. – every bright strong color under the sun compared with our dull silvers, blacks, reds and not much else. Cuban music is exciting too if you like that sort of thing. There are some unusual buildings in Havana with colonnades along the pavements. There are gardens of palm trees within some of these buildings which are rather nice.
Go to the holiday resort of Guardalavaca on Cuba for the ultimate relaxing break. There are stunning beaches, exciting diving and luxurious hotels to be enjoyed there. It is a peaceful area, situated in the Eastern province of Holguin, and is home to idyllic powdery beaches and stunning coral reefs. Guardalavaca’s warm, clear waters are home to an abundance of marine life.
On the balconies of your hotel in Guardalavaca you can relax and gaze out to golden sands and the aquamarine waters of the Atlantic. The resort offers every activity under the sun including swimming with dolphins and horse riding. You can arrange your days to be as busy or relaxing as you choose.
Although the main industry of the Guardalavaca area is tourism, it has retained an authentic Cuban feel and the spacious countryside will ensure you never feel too overcrowded.
Many visitors to Cuba choose to twin their Guardalavaca holidays with a break in Havana as well. This is the perfect way for you to experience the diverse attractions of both the east and the west of Cuba. Guardalavaca’s dazzling beaches and laid back pace is in vivid contrast to the vibrant buzz of Havana.
In the holiday resort of Varadero, there is sun and surf and so much more. Sun soaked beaches are just the beginning. If you enjoy lively music, Varadero is the place for you. If you want to see the countryside of Cuba rather than stay in Varadero resort all the time, go to Yumuri valley, 60 km from Varadero, and on to drink a Pina Colada at the Mirador. One of the best in Cuba! For those who want to experience a feeling of Cuban life outside of the resort, go for it as it is well worth it.
Have a look at the accommodation on offer and make your choice.

Charismatic Cuba
If palm trees and lots of blue water turn you on, you would do well to choose Cuba for your next holiday.
Cuba is an island nation in the Caribbean Sea. It consists of the main island of Cuba plus the Isla de la Juventad and several archipelagos. Havana, a city on the island of Cuba is the capital city of Cuba. The inhabitants, culture and customs come from diverse places such as Spain, Africa and the U.S.A. It may be an authoritarian democracy, but literacy and health have been given high priority there. Spanish is the most common language. Festivals take place at all times of the year, but January to May is the ideal time to visit temperature-wise. Restaurant meals are delicious and incredibly cheap, many dishes being of Spanish origin.
One of the best resorts is Varadero, where, if you are brave and daring you can go skydiving. You would land onto Varadero’s white sandy beach. There are also ultralite flights from the beach.
Car hire is available in the Varadero Airport or through various hotels. Take a ride in a glorious automobile, the old American way. Some hotels organize transfer buses and there is an open-topped bus to town but there are no trains. There is a large shopping mall, restaurants and an open-air market-place. Varadero is in a relatively exclusive part of Cuba, with many private hotels, fantastic beaches and Cuba’s only full golf course. So this could be an ideal choice of holiday destination if you need your golf amongst many other activities. The sea water is warm, turquoise. In fact, Varadero could be your little bit of paradise. Another fun thing, there are motorized trikes called coco taxis available for getting around. These are enclosed and appear rather like car-sized oranges. There are also horse-drawn carriages for hire for a stately ride, plus mopeds to ride throughout town. You can jump on one of these with just a learner’s license even. You will be overwhelmed by the great variety of things to see and do in Varadero, from camel riding for children to cabaret, one of the latter lasting 5 hours! Rest assured you will have a whale of a time on holiday in Varadero.
Guardalavaca is another resort well worth your consideration for a holiday in Cuba. Here too you could enjoy white sandy beaches. Guardalavaca provides the ultimate in relaxing holidays in luxurious hotels, with the excitement of diving and snorkeling to explore the coral reefs and plentiful sea life. After swimming with dolphins, you could go horse-riding. Make your holiday as hectic or lazy as you wish. For a change of scene, drive out away from the beach at Guardalavaca and you will see sugar cane plantations. The countryside is vast, but even the beaches never feel too crowded. That fact alone has to gain a point in this holiday destination’s favour. Moreover Cuba is famous for its hospitality. You would not be disappointed.

Holidays in Cuba
Cuba will always be for ever linked with Fidel Castro and cigars, but holidays in Cuba are a Cuban revelation rather than a Cuban revolution. If you're looking for character and charm, holidays in Cuba have it coming out of their ears. What's more, following massive investment in tourism by the Castro government, today's holidays in Cuba also come with all the modern comforts you would find in the Mediterranean. Not to mention the 300 days of sunshine a year and an average temperature of 25 degrees!
Cuba's resorts offer pretty much something for everyone, whether you're looking for peace and quiet or a party atmosphere. At one end of the scale are lively Varadero holidays, close to the capital Havana. On the quieter side are Guardalavaca holidays, a sleepy backwater on the north east coast. And if you're looking for all inclusive holidays to Cuba, then Playa Pesquero is the place.
A couple of decades ago, talking about cheap holidays to Cuba would probably have raised a few wry smiles. But this is now one of the best value destinations in the Caribbean. So, there's a good prospect of picking up one of those bargain getaways or late deals. Whether you do or not, you'll get a great deal for your money, including amazing tropical scenery, old colonial treasures, salsa music and, of course, the amazing sight of pre-revolutionary Cadillacs and Pontiacs gliding majestically around the city streets. Along with those famous cigars, they're all part of the unique spirit of Cuba.

Try something different
1. Brazil
Riding on the back of the build up to two major sporting events - the FIFA World Cup in 2014 plus the Olympics in 2016, Brazil is likely to be on the travel radar for some time. This holiday vacation is about lifestyle, nature together with adventure. Visitors really like the culture and nightlife and the carnival attitude of the Brazilian people. New boutique hotels and eco-lodges are popping up all over the place and from the seductive charms of Rio, to glorious paradise beaches, to exploring the Amazon, Brazil has got to be on every single traveler's list.
2. United States
Perhaps it's the Obama effect but it is no longer politically incorrect for being a fan of the USA This huge country comes with some thing for everybody, from the spectacular national parks of Utah to fly-drives inside the sunshine state of Florida. If you've already done New York City why not arrange a United States city break in Philadelphia? This supremely walkable city has got history, culture, entertainment together with sincere heart.
3. Iceland
There's no other way to say it, there has never been a less costly time to pay a visit to Iceland. We don't like to get excited about other's disasters but this extraordinary place is now within reach for a great many holidaymakers. It is a fantastic
chance to see the Northern Lights, or Aurora Borealis, unquestionably among mother-nature's most dazzling sights. Discover Iceland's rich natural splendour and literary history or take a city break in Reykjavik.
4. Cuba
At long last the US government has formally eased travel along with commercial restrictions with Cuba, which includes access to telecommunications corporations. This state, rich in rhythm and music, is likely to become a lot more trendy with United States visitors. But for now it still, retains the edginess of a different holiday location. Travelling independently in Cuba is low cost, with Casa Particulare, official home stays, from £15 per night per room. Uncover the right mojito in Havana and dance to the beat before McDonalds arrives!
5. South Africa
See Table Mountain in Cape Town, go wine touring in Stellenbosch, and see the big five in malaria-free parks. For your beach front holiday pleasure, the coast of subtropical KwaZulu Natal benefits from 23 degree sea temperatures so you can swim all year round.
6. London
London is now far more affordable and accessible for holidaymakers from abroad than it has been for a long time. Residents may well not notice things have got any cheaper but the depressed sterling indicates the United Kingdom capital is no longer one of the world's most overpriced locations for a city break. With a multitude of literary and legendary figures, London has the parks, the museums, the history, the shows, coupled with the shopping, to fill a lifetime of city breaks.
7. Melbourne
A cluster of new airline route launches are set to persuade British travelers to commence their Australian holiday in Melbourne rather than Sydney. The country's cultural and events capital, Melbourne, mixes a sophisticated European vibe with that famously laid-back Aussie atmosphere. Delight in an Italian meal in Lygon Street and make sure to time your visit to coincide with one of Melbourne's premier sports activities.
8. Hong Kong
Travelers usually think of Hong Kong as being a stopover destination, spending little more than forty eight hours in this city of many pleasures. See skyscraper glass towers, to tropical foliage on Victoria Peak, get ready to eat, shop and sightsee your way to a standstill.
