In the Dominican Republic there are many holiday resorts offering luxury all inclusive accommodation.
The Dominican Republic is a nation on the island of La Hispaniola in the Caribbean region. It was the first site of the first permanent European settlement of the Americas when Christopher Columbus landed there in 1492. In recent years the Dominican Republic has been moving towards representative democracy. It has become the Caribbean’s largest tourist destination, the country’s year-round golf courses being among the top attractions.
The Dominican Republic is mountainous, has an average temperature of 26 degrees centigrade and great biological diversity. Music and sport is high on the agenda in Dominican culture. Meringue is the national dance and song, and baseball is the favorite sport. The population is mostly multiracial, and many Dominicans speak English. The Dominican peso is the national currency.

Bayahibe is on the south east coast of the country. The town itself is virtually a fishing village around which are a few large resorts. The drive to Bayahibe from the airport passes through incredible hilly views. Nearby is a national park consisting of a vast number of limestone terraces, and caves with rock carvings of the Tainos who were the original inhabitants of the Dominican Republic. There is excellent diving from the coast of the park due to its fantastic diverse coral formations. In another area of the park you can see dozens of different types of birds. There are boat trips for hire at Bayahibe too to visit lovely white sandy beach with coconut palms and great snorkeling. You might even catch a glimpse of manatees and dolphins.
Dorada is the community which attracts the most ‘all inclusive tourists’ to the North coast and you can be assured of sunshine all through the year in Dorada. Because of the variety of activities available in the resorts, it is easy not to leave your resort area at all, but it would be a pity not to go and see, and do all the amazing things which are very nearby outside of the resort.
Bavaro is a touristic area in the eastern most province. The beautifully white and well groomed beaches are edged with clear turquoise sea. The resorts are completely self sufficient really. The tall palm trees and lush vegetation behind the beaches make the Dominican Republic very picturesque, easy on the eye, restful looking.
