Holidays in Croatia

There are many types of accommodation on offer in Croatia and many different resorts, so here is some information about the country in the first place, followed by some of the resorts – Cavtat, Dubrovnik, Korcula, Lopud Island, Porec and Rovinj. You can check on the country, Croatia at Kerplosh to see what is available and hopefully to your liking.

The Croatian currency is the Kuna. The climate is diverse, mostly continental and Mediterranean. Croatia is bordered on the west by the Adriatic Sea and has a long coastline traced by more than a thousand islands. The main religion is Roman Catholicism. Since Croatia was released from the shackles of communism and became an independent republic, human development has reached a high standard, and there is income equality.

At the moment, Croatia is ranked the 18th most popular tourist destination in the world, a country proud of its culture, art, cuisine and wines.

The resort of Cavtat is very popular for holidays. It is the most southern town of Croatia and is one of the nicest places on earth. For your amusement you could take a trip in a glass boat on the bay of Cavtat to watch fish at the bottom of the sea, visit the islands whilst enjoying a drink on board, wander around some nearby villages. There are several restaurants to choose from in and around Cavtat. If it is more energetic activities you are after, diving and water sports are available.

Holidays in Dubrovnik can be relaxing in Spring or Summer. A number of historic buildings can still be seen today.

The resort of Korcula offers, amongst others, Self Catering Deals at the 3 star Grgic Apartments which occupy a most picturesque setting, whilst you enjoy the pool and sundeck.

Lopud Island is car free and boasts 1.2 km of sandy beaches. There are nature trails to be explored on this island. Lopud Harbour has beachside cafes, and Dubrovnik Old Town is 9 km away. It can be reached by ferry. So if it’s a really quiet but beautiful holiday for which you yearn, Lopud would be ideal.

Several different types of accommodation are on offer in Porec. This resort has breathtaking views and a Historical Centre. The local people are lovely, and eating out is inexpensive and always delicious.

Rovinj is a resort backed by forest but facing the sea with an immaculate marina. Rovinj will satisfy your gourmet desires and also offers naturism – a little different from ordinary, consumer tourism demand patterns. Always wanted an all-over tan? A holiday on Rovinj is the choice for you then.
